Air fryer chicken wings are one of the easiest things to make in an air fryer. They always turn out super delicious and moist! They don’t get dried out like lots of the unflavored or plain wings that I’ve tried in restaurants.

First let me say that I absolutely love my air fryer. In fact, I’m not sure how I ever got along without. It’s been a godsend since I started on the carnivore diet about 4 months ago. It makes cooking meat so much easier.

I have the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer + Grill and I use it nearly daily. There is typically very minimal prep work involved when using an air fryer. You literally just add your meat to the fryer, then set the timer (or insert a meat thermometer if trying to achieve an exact cook temperature) and walk away until it’s done.

How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Wings

For these air fryer chicken wings, I start by preheating my air fryer on the “Air Crisp” setting at 390 degrees. Then I liberally salt both sides of the wings. Once the fryer has preheated, I place the wings in the fryer basket and set the timer for 20 minutes.

It is recommended to turn the wings or shake the basket midway through cooking to even out the browning. In my experience, I’ve found that this is not really necessary. It’s a good thing, as I’d probably lose track of the time or forget to do it anyway! 😆

Be sure to remove the wings from the air fryer as soon as they’re finished, or they might get a little overcooked.

I love plain wings with nothing but Redmond Real Salt sea salt. However, if you like a little more flavor, you could optionally add some other spices prior to cooking, or lather on sauce of your choice after they’re done.

  • 1 pound chicken wings

  • Salt

  • Other spices of choice (optional)


  • Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees.
  • Salt the wings liberally on both sides.
  • Rub on any additional spices that you wish (optional).
  • Place in air fryer and cook for 20 minutes.
  • ENJOY!
